29 corks popped!!!Our last wine get together was a white elephant theme and the turnout was tremendous. We had a wide variety of snacks, salads, Cuban food, and other delicious goodies. Its always a surprise to see new faces at each event, and the majority of the time spent when everyone arrived was getting to know each other and making acquaintance.
There was about 13 different bottles of wine to choose from, red and whites both. Many gathered around the table smelling, and tasting each wine, trying to figure out which one to keep drinking for the majority of the night. It was fun talking and commenting on which wines we liked best, and dissing on certain California wines because of course as Washingtonians, we’re partial to Washington wine.
After everyone discovered their favorite wine among the choices offered and had had their fill of treats, we all gathered in the living room to start the white elephant gift exchange. There were small gifts, large gifts, wrapped gifts, and bagged gifts. We all drew numbers out of a hat and then started grabbing presents. The laughter just kept rolling as everyone unraveled their gift. The white elephant event will definitely be one repeated at other club get togethers in the future because it was such a hit.
